In Kathmandu valley, there are three major cities among them Kathmandu Durbar square is the oldest one which is call the City of Temple. Thus we will see a lot of ancient, artful, cultural, elegant and traditional and archaeologically signified temples.
Durbar means the palace in Devanagarik language, it is also call Hanuman Dhoka Complex, which was the Royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century and where important ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarch took a place. The two-hectare palace complex is divided into two main courtyards. This palace was initially constructed in the 9th century, 16th century; similarly additional was built in the regime of Shah Dynasty in the 18th century and by the Rana rulers in the 19th century. The palace and the temples are decorated with elaborately-carved wooden windows, struts and panels.
It is also possible to visit the State Rooms inside the palace, where we can see how the regime and ruled came over in this palace.
You will see a lot of different activities around the Kathmandu Durbar square. Historically and archeologically signified resources such as Moju Dega temple, Pratap stone monolith pillar, pratap script, Kasthmandav temple, the black Bhairav sculpture, Jagannath temple, the big bell, Taleju Bhavani temple, Hanuman statue, Golden gate and so on.
The most curious attractions is the Kumari temple which contains the Kumari ( pre menstruation) a young girl chosen through an ancient and mystical selection process to become the human incarnation of the Hindu mother goddess, Durga.
